Supreme Court Kills California Redevelopment Agencies

The California Supreme Court today struck a major blow to redevelopment agencies throughout California by ruling that the state acted legally in abolishing the agencies. Because the court ruling ended the plan to allow local governments to buy back into redevelopment, the agencies will be phased out when their currently contracted projects are completed.
